Glassman sentiu a necessidade de praticar uma atividade f\u00edsica que trabalhasse o corpo de forma completa, levando-o a desenvolver um programa de treino que combina diferentes modalidades esportivas. Os treinos de alta intensidade visam a melhoria do condicionamento f\u00edsico, explorando as capacidades do corpo humano. Inicialmente utilizado em academias de pol\u00edcia e treinamentos militares nos EUA devido \u00e0 sua alta intensidade, o CrossFit tornou-se um sucesso mundial.<\/p>\n<h4>A Origem do CrossFit<\/h4>\n<p>Greg Glassman fundou a empresa Cross-Fit em 1996 e come\u00e7ou a aplicar seu m\u00e9todo em aulas coletivas. Logo, foi convidado para treinar o Departamento de Pol\u00edcia da cidade de Santa Cruz, na Calif\u00f3rnia. Em 2000, Greg Glassman e Lauren Jenai fundaram oficialmente o CrossFit. A primeira afiliada da empresa foi a CrossFit North, em Seattle. Em 2005, havia 13 afiliadas, e em 2012, apenas 12 anos ap\u00f3s o in\u00edcio da empresa, j\u00e1 existiam 3.400 afiliadas em todo o mundo.<\/p>\n<h4>Estrutura dos Treinos de CrossFit<\/h4>\n<p>Embora os exerc\u00edcios realizados no CrossFit j\u00e1 existissem, a inova\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 na forma como s\u00e3o combinados e executados dentro do programa de treinamento.
